BBM&L Library, Books & Magazines

The BBM&L Library is housed within the University of Cranfield Library. The BBM&L Library is a reference only library, and cannot lend any books or other publications. To visit the Library it is necessary to first contact John Harrington, the librarian at Cranfield, Tel: 01234 751122 to make an appointment. When arriving at the Library, the visitor should contact the desk on the first floor. Assistance or advice can be arranged with the BBM&L if required.

The British Balloon Museum accepts donations of balloon literature from any source, from books entirely on lighter than air flight to articles in magazines. Log books of historical balloons, or persons associated with ballooning are welcome as they reflect the development of the sport. Ideally the library would include the historical with the modern, but this will rely on availability of older documents.

Most printed matter that include lighter than air material are collected. Birthday cards, balloon cards, packaging, printed programmes from balloon meets and pilot's packs.

It is hoped that this site may be able to exhibit some pieces in the future, or excerpts at least.
